Hey Guys,
I'm just wondering if any of you have tried, at a conference or whatever, or are using either Mobile Speak Pocket from Code Factory (same company that makes Mobile Speak) or Pocket HAL from Dolphin? What did you think? Did any of you get to try them out with a Bluetooth Braille display, and, if you did, how was the Braille support? Better yet, if you tried both, which did you like better, and why? I'm just curious, as the whole concept of the PDA/smartphone screenreader sounds pretty neat in some ways from what I've read.
Thanks,
Maria

Never tried them, but I am surely interested in hearing what responses you get on this post.

Good evening all. I have purchased Mobile Speak Pocket and find it quite good in some areas and needing of work in others. First please remember that they have built this from scratch where hal is a port of the windows screen reader over to pocket pc. Mobile speak pocket works well in contacts, calendar, Internet and E-Mail. The MSP curser is similar to the Jaws curser in the fact that it enables you to move about the screen and click on things that might not be accessible otherwise. Skype is one application I use that needs the MSP curser. Skype works quite well too. I found however that in Microsoft word the response is very slow when moving around a document. I found this out unfortunatley during actual use durring a presentation on the Mac I was giving. I was trying to review my notes and was dismayed at how long it took to move around the document. I have reported this and have no doubt that it will be corrected. The company is quite responsive to customer suggestions and offers great technical support. They also support windows mobile 5 which is a good operating system because when the battery dies you don't lose all the data unlike wm2003. I have also heard that in the next release of pocket hal in about a month they will support wm5 and the del pda's. This came from Garith Collend a great guy who works for dolphin and really!!! knows his products.

I don't have a cell phone! But this sounds cool to me! I am learning how to use Skype!
